This award honors young professionals who combine technical innovation with active engagement in the IEEE Transportation Electrification Council and its member societies. It highlights impactful contributions within the Council’s field of interest and recognizes solutions that demonstrate both technical excellence and a commitment to collaboration, outreach, or broader societal impact. The award promotes early-career leadership and community-driven progress in sustainable transport electrification.
Eligibility
Candidates must be IEEE Members in good standing at the time of nomination. No minimum duration of prior IEEE or Society membership is required. The award is intended for individuals who are at the early stage of their professional career. Eligibility is limited to candidates who received their first academic degree (e.g., bachelor’s degree) no more than fifteen (15) years prior to the nomination deadline. Eligible candidates shall have demonstrated technical innovation with tangible, visible, and significant academic or industrial impact within the field of transportation electrification, consistent with the Council’s field of interest.
In addition, candidates must show active engagement within IEEE TEC or its Member Societies, such as leadership or co-organization of technical activities, contributions to conferences, standards, white papers, or educational initiatives (e.g., webinars), and/or mentorship of students and young professionals.
Eligibility and Selection process shall comply with procedures and regulations established in IEEE and Society/Council governing documents, particularly with IEEE Policy 4.4 on Awards Limitations.
Previous award winners are not eligible for substantially the same achievements (per IEEE Policies 4.4: An individual shall receive only one award for a given achievement, unless the significance merits a higher award, which may be given in the following year or thereafter.)
Endorsement letters must be from IEEE Senior Members or Higher in good standing.

Presentation
The award shall be presented annually at a major IEEE Transportation Electrification Council sponsored event, such as the IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference (ITEC), or at another suitable Council event as determined by the Council leadership, typically held between June and November.
In addition, the award recipient will be invited to present their work in a special technical session or webinar organized by the IEEE Transportation Electrification Council.
