Thank you for being a member of the Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS). As a member, you receive discounted registration fees at all IEEE conferences and additional discounts at DEIS sponsored conferences, free online access to the IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, and free paper copies of the IEEE Electrical Insulation Magazine. In addition, you have access to the names of all DEIS members, are eligible to vote for members-at-large of the Administrative Committee (AdCom) that governs DEIS, and allowed to nominate AdCom members and DEIS officers.

Volunteer Opportunities

We hope that you will consider working on a DEIS sponsored conference committee, on a DEIS technical committee, as a manuscript reviewer or guest editor, or as a member of other groups in the larger Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society. Volunteering not only helps build DEIS and gives back to your technical profession but is also a great way to network with others in your profession.

Young Professionals (Formerly GOLD)

IEEE Young Professionals (formerly Graduates of the Last Decade, GOLD) is an international community of enthusiastic, dynamic, and innovative members and volunteers. IEEE members who received their first professional degree within the last fifteen years are automatically IEEE Young Professionals members. Young professionals have a wide variety of member benefits & opportunities available to them through IEEE membership. These highlighted benefits are geared towards the needs and interests of young professionals and revolve around professional growth, community, and technical development. Higher IEEE Member Grades

Senior Member

DEIS members are encouraged to elevate their IEEE membership grade to Senior Member. This is the highest IEEE grade for which an individual can apply and is the first step to becoming a Fellow of IEEE. If you have been in professional practice for 10 years, you may be eligible for Senior Membership.

New Senior Members receive an engraved wood and bronze plaque and a credit certificate for USD $25 to be used towards a new IEEE society membership.

To apply, you need an IEEE member nominating you along with at least two other references. Your nominator and your references all must be active IEEE members holding Senior Member, Fellow or Honorary Member grade. Please indicate on your Senior Member application form that DEIS is your nominating entity.

Fellow

IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation. More information can be found here.
