AdCom manages the activities of the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS). It consists of 18 members-at-large, along with 6 ex-officio members.
The DEIS Nominations and Appointment Committee is currently seeking nominations for the positions of President, Administrative Vice-President, Technical Vice-President, and six AdCom members-at-large. Nominees must be IEEE-DEIS members in good standing; affiliate members are not eligible.
AdCom has traditionally aimed to maintain a balanced representation between industry and academia. It also seeks global representation across regions: the Americas (Regions 1–7 and 9), Africa/Europe (Region 8), and Asia/Pacific (Region 10). In addition, the committee values broad participation and a diversity of backgrounds and skill sets within its leadership.
AdCom Members-at-Large:
Each year, six members-at-large are elected to serve three-year terms on the DEIS AdCom. Individuals in these roles may serve no more than two consecutive terms. AdCom meets at least twice annually, and members-at-large are strongly encouraged to attend in person, even if remote connection is generally available. Please note that travel expenses are generally not covered by DEIS.
Candidates for member-at-large positions are elected by Society members through an electronic or postal ballot administered by IEEE staff. Those elected or appointed will begin their three-year term on 1 January 2027.
The deadline for the member-at-large nominations is 1st June 2026. Self-nominations are permitted, but the final slate of candidates will be selected by the Nominations and Appointments Committee while taking into account the varying backgrounds and skillsets of candidates. Member-at-large candidates should provide a picture (taken in the last 2 years), a short bio (up to 350 words), and a candidate statement (150 – 200 words). Examples from previous elections will be provided to potential candidates upon request. DEIS Officers:
The officers of the society are the president, administrative vice-president, and technical vice-president. The officers serve a 1-year term and are eligible for reappointment to a second term. The officers for 2027 will be appointed by AdCom at its meeting in the autumn of 2026.
The deadline for officer nominations is 1 August 2026. Self-nominations are permitted.
